London Fashion Week: Bright star

C3 needs an assistant already!
Having finally gone through all of the pictures shot during London Fashion Week – which included preening and beautifying – there is a lot to digest.

So the logical thing to do is provide you with highlights in small, manageable doses, so your head doesn't explode with style and gorgeousness.

Now, with this being about London Fashion Week, there will be a slight departure from C3's usual frugal-friendly finds. But even the top designers have sales, so just think of this as a One to Watch Extravaganza!

Ladies, meet Nancy Van Ostren.

A lot to smile about: Nancy Van Ostren
Not only is she a fab designer – having worked for some of the biggest names in fashion including Zandra Rhodes, Jasper Conran and Burberry – but she's also an incredibly nice person.

You can't help but immediately notice how accessible and wearable her pieces are. Van Ostren 'gets' the female form and knows what's flattering and what works to enhance the silhouette.

One of the most striking things about her display at this year's show had to be her hot pink selection; a top (as displayed below by Van Ostren's equally pleasant assistant) and a dress with crystalline-embellished shoulders.

Ultimately, Van Ostren's collection is feminine with a boxy spin on it.

Mind you, it's not surprising Van Ostren is so talented. It's practically inherent, with the designer's family going back four generations as tailors. She says she knew she wanted to be a designer from the age of just six!

Too cute.

Well, it's clear to see now that the lil' lady certainly knew what she wanted, even at such a young age. And if her collection (retailing from £175 to £895) is anything to go by, Nancy Van Ostren will be a name to remember as a serious player in the fashion industry.

You're welcome.

Please note prices, product availability and weblinks correct at time of gushing.
