London Fashion Week: Shoes glorious shoes!
It seems like only yesterday C3 was roaming the halls of Somerset House with the rest of the fashionistarati.
While the fashion shows were all marvelous, we mustn't forget other designers literally setting up shop at the venue.
Of the most striking and inviting pieces had to be THE SHOES.
Camilla Skovgaard was showing off her latest range of heavenly wedges and heels. And having gained BA and MA degrees in footwear design, it's plain to see she most certainly knows her stuff.
See?
Among the Denmark native's fans are Oscar winning beauty Halle Berry and wild child Rihanna.
Not bad, not bad.
Skovgaard's angels retail from £300.
Central St Martins graduate Michael Lewis has worked with the likes of Gucci with Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton with Marc Jacobs and Burberry with Christopher Bailey. His current business card brags: "Design Director" with the Versace logo smugly holding court nearby.
Name dropping aside, the shoes speak for themselves.
Finally, one designer's assistant was so terrified my camera's flash would cause Somerset House to explode, she politely informed me I wasn't allowed to take pictures. But she was kind enough to give me this.
A leaflet. It's as good as the real thing if you ask me.
I defy anyone to tell me these wedges suck.
East London based Atalanta Weller has worked with some of the best including Gareth Pugh and Henry Holland. She is a guest lecturer on an MA course at the London College of Fashion and she's dying to give me these wedges.
Okay, I made the last bit up. But the rest is true.
Here's to Anna Wintour's pay packet!
Please note prices, product availability and weblinks correct at time of gushing.
